Project Highlight

Kumi Construction Management Corporation (KCM), in partnership with Parsons Management Consultants (PMC) team has been providing Management Support Services for the Capital Construction Program, initiated by the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA) to improve its airports in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. Some of the renovation and expansion projects under the Capital Construction Program include service and transport tunnels that would house the automated Airport Train System (ATS), additional public parking, a new airport traffic control tower, service buildings, and a new runway.

KCM assisted in providing quality assurance and inspection services for all excavation support work, structural & concrete work and the New Australian Tunneling Method (NATM) and the Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) method. The project also includes construction of a Tier One Station, Tier Three Station Shell, and an inner Spur Track using the cut-and-cover method and a tunnel portal at the Vehicle Maintenance Facility.
